Acne could be a nightmare for most people afflicted with this condition especially teenagers. Imagine going to a party with that annoying red bump on your face. It would surely pump up your inferiority complex into high gear making your experience not quite pleasant. What’s worse is that the red bump leaves an acne scar behind.

What will they think of me? I’m shy to face him/her. I’m not presentable. These are some of the thoughts of a person with acne. As you can see it’s all negative and very self defeating.

The nightmare doesn’t end when the acne is healed. Scars appear after those red bumps are gone. Those ugly craters can ruin the terrain of your face making you want to avoid meeting people.

Not to worry, there are procedures and machines that can help flatten away those craters on your face. There are skin grafting techniques, laser treatments, collagen injections, autologus fat transfers, dermabrasions, keloids treatments and microdermabrasions.

These technologies does not come in cheap but the costs can be very minimal compared to the benefits that you derive from it. A confidence boost, less stress and a life with no inferiority caused by these acne scars. Now you can meet anyone you like and attend gatherings without the fear of being not liked by people.

Statistics show that about 40 to 50 million Americans have this skin problem. Other countries should have similar statistics percentage wise. Mostly affected are teenagers starting at the age of 11. There are also cases of adult acne but not as high as those of teenagers.

There are cases where acne can surface in other parts of the body, even at the buttocks. But the most likely places are the face, neck, chest and at the back.

What treatment is best for you? There are many to choose from but your dermatologist can give you the best kind of treatment suited for your skin and the type of acne scar you have. One kind of treatment may suit one person but that same treatment may not work well for another person.

There’s no single treatment for all types of acne scar. Your dermatologist can determine that for you then you’ll be able to decide. You may also research the internet on the different types of acne scar treatment available so that you are already familiar with them when you visit your dermatologist.

Insecurity, inferiority and stress are things which you should avoid. Acne and its scars can cause these things to develop inside you. Since there are now ways to treat acne scars, it would be wise to avail of that kinds of treatment.
