The first step in dealing with symptoms of fatigue is an understanding of how our bodies actually work. When we were born, we were endowed with an in-born healing capacity. But, much like a bank account, when withdrawals are made, replenishment must be made.

Disease is actually a fight for health. And symptoms represent that fight. But symptoms should come and then go away after restoring one to balance. Symptoms that go on and on mean that the fight to restore health isn’t being won. This is the nature of chronic fatigue.

The inflammation response is generated by your own body for protection from damaging elements. Western Medicine’s focus has been that inflammation is the actual disease, not a defensive response of the body. The primary emphasis of the pharmaceutical industry is the development of drugs to reduce inflammation. So, the body never gets rid of the cause of the inflammation which continues to damage your body.

There are five signs in the body’s inflammation fight:

* pain * heat * redness * swelling * loss of function

These five aspects of the inflammation response are generated as one becomes afflicted with chronic fatigue.

Why Do So Many People Suffer from Fatigue?

Remember, what I wrote in the opening about the amount of healing capital that you start off with in your healing bank account. So, fatigue occurs when there is less healing capital available to deal with the stresses of life that drain us.

There are multiple causes of chronic fatigue:

* too much stress * environmental pollutants * lack of exercise * post viral * emotional stress * drug-induced changes in cellular function * diet

This complicated picture of various possible causes is more than medicine can deal with because it’s only comfortable with one cause and one disease.

There are no drugs for the symptoms of chronic fatigue. Since there are no accepted causes, effective therapies do not exist. Is it likely there will ever be any drugs? I don’t think so. The symptoms are from the body fighting for its health. The way to help is to help the body do what it’s trying to do.

The symptoms must be supported to do the job they’re designed to do. This is why you need to look at other supportive disciplines for your answers. But, you have to move carefully as there are far more marketing gambits out there than effective therapies.

Is it good to take away the symptoms by suppressing them? The answer is no. But, that being said, people will do anything to stop their suffering. If you don’t make changes that affect the underlying causes, they will remain and at some point in the future you’ll have to pay a price for this choice.
